World Igbo National Union ( WINU )
4th Day of November 2025.
To The local Government Chairman, Community president general (PG),
Clergy leaders.
URGENT APPEAL FOR SECURITY SOLUTION IN IGBO LAND, ISI-UZO IN PARTICULAR.
World Igbo National Union is a pro socio-cultural organization with a dedicated mission of seeing to the development and security in Igbo land and her environs.
Our core objective is to partner with selected stakeholders in providing security in all the length and breadth of Igbo land and her environs, for the protection of lives and properties of Umu-igbo and the critical infrastructure in Igbo land.
We are writing to you as a concerned organization regarding the worsening security challenges in various communities across Igbo land, expecially as regards Isi-uzo.
In recent times, our people have faced alarming threats, including:
• Armed robberies targeting villagers, often leaving victims injured or traumatized.
• Attacks by armed Fulani herdsmen on farmers, leading to destruction of crops, displacement of communities, and the tragic loss of lives.
• Incidents of sexual violence, particularly rape, which have caused deep emotional scars and fear among our women and girls.
These attacks have not only endangered lives but have also crippled agricultural activities, as many farmers are now too afraid to return to their farmlands. The economic impact is devastating, with food production declining and livelihoods destroyed leading to Ala Igbo solely depending on other ethnic groups for source of livelihood.
We are reaching out to request your kind advice, guidance, and possible intervention on how we can partner with you on ways to address these pressing issues. We need practical measures to:
1. Improve security presence and response time in rural areas.
2. Support farmers in returning safely to their lands.
3. Strengthen community vigilance and early warning systems.
4. Ensure justice for victims and deterrence for offenders.
Our people are hardworking and resilient, but without safety, our communities cannot thrive. Any suggestions, initiatives, or partnerships you can recommend will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time, attention, and commitment to the wellbeing of our people hence Isi-Uzo, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
J.C Nebolisa
