A REQUEST FOR THE CREATION OF ANIOMA STATE AND THE INCLUSION OF IGBANKE PEOPLE IN THE PROPOSED ANIOMA STATE.
It is with a sincerity of purpose, cultural affinity and the unification of Igbo Nation as was done to others that we are obliged to write to you on the present demand for an additional state for the South East geo-political Zone. It’s on this premise that Igbo National Union (INU) requests for the creation of Anioma State and also for the inclusion of Igbanke people in the proposed state.
This request becomes necessary sequel to the recent visit to our Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko by the Igbanke people (a sub-Igbo group erroneously lumped into Edo State), demanding their (Igbanke) inclusion in the proposed Anioma State.
As the 4th in line in the leadership structure of the Nigerian federation, history beckons on you to do the needful. It’s time to bring together all our people scattered into none Igbo states and aligned with different cultures and traditions. Most of these our kits and kin were carved out into other states either by coercion, boundary adjustment, and or through circumstances beyond their own control from which our people had no time to harmonize other than now.
